Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions people ask most about Disguild. Each answer links to the full guide.
Using Disguild
Do I need an account to browse?
No. You can browse and read every approved bot and server without signing in. You only need to sign in with Discord to submit a listing, vote, or write a review. See Getting started.
What does Disguild ask Discord for when I sign in?
Two things: your public profile (Discord ID, username and avatar) and the list of servers you are in, which powers the server picker. It never asks for your password, your email address, or a bot token. Details are in Account, sign-in and notifications.
Can I see where I am signed in, and sign out other devices?
Yes. Open Account settings to see each device as a browser and operating system label. You can sign out one device or all the others. You also get a notification if someone signs in from a browser and system you have not used in the last 30 days.
Listing a bot or server
How do I add my bot?
Sign in, choose Submit a listing, and paste your bot's Application ID. Disguild fills in what Discord makes public, then you write a short description (20 to 140 characters) and a full description (50 to 4,000 characters). Follow How to submit a Discord bot.
How do I add my server?
You must be able to manage the server (you own it or have the Manage Server permission). Pick it from the list of servers you manage, or paste its Server ID. The steps are in How to list a Discord server.
Why can't Disguild read my bot's commands automatically?
Reading another bot's commands needs that bot's token, and Disguild never asks for one. Instead you can paste up to 100 commands, one per line, or the JSON Discord returns. Commands are optional.
My listing is pending. What happens next?
A reviewer approves it, asks for changes, or rejects it, and you get a notification for each decision. If changes are requested, edit the listing and resubmit. The meaning of each status is explained in Listing review and statuses.
Can I edit my listing after it is approved?
Yes, apart from the ID, type, name and icon. The public page keeps showing the current text until a reviewer approves your change, and only one change can wait for review at a time.
Can I change my bot's name or icon?
Not on Disguild. The ID, type, name and icon are locked after you submit.
Votes, reviews and reports
Who can vote, and how often?
You must be signed in with a Discord account at least 7 days old, and complete a short captcha. You can vote for the same listing once every 12 hours, up to 10 votes in 24 hours, and never for your own listing.
How do reviews work?
Reviews use the same eligibility as votes. Give a rating from 1 to 5 stars and write 10 to 2,000 characters. You get one review per listing and can edit or delete it at any time. The listing owner can reply once to each review.
How do I report a listing or a review?
Use the report button and choose a reason: spam, abuse, impersonation, malicious, or other. A moderator then reviews it. Owners are told when their listing has been reported, but never who reported it. See Votes and reviews: rules and limits.
Why was my account suspended?
A moderator can suspend an account that breaks the rules. A banner on the site explains why. A suspended account can browse but cannot submit, vote or review.
Owners and developers
Can I see how many people view my listing?
Yes. Owners can see views and invite clicks over 7, 30 or 90 days, where visitors came from, and export the numbers as CSV. See Listing analytics for owners.
Is there an API?
Yes. Owners can create API keys to read their listings, reviews and analytics, and receive signed webhooks. See API v1 and webhooks.
