Listing review and statuses
Every bot and server is checked by a person before it appears in the directory. This page explains the statuses a listing can have and what you can do at each one.
Statuses
| Status | What it means | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Submitted and waiting for a reviewer. Not public yet. | Edit it. It stays pending. |
| Changes requested | A reviewer asked for changes and left a note for you. | Edit it and resubmit. It returns to pending and the note is cleared. |
| Approved | Live in the directory. | Edit it. Edits are reviewed before they go live (see below). |
| Rejected | The listing was not accepted. | It cannot be edited. |
| Suspended | Taken out of the directory by a moderator. It can be restored. | It cannot be edited while suspended. |
How you find out
Each decision creates a notification (the bell in the header, and your notifications page). Notices about review decisions are always on and cannot be switched off, so you never miss one. Manage the rest in your notification settings.
Editing a live listing
You can change the descriptions, category, language, links and commands of an approved listing. The public page keeps showing the current text until a reviewer approves your change.
- Only one change can wait for review at a time. Submitting again replaces the waiting one.
- You can withdraw a waiting change whenever you like.
- If a change is not approved you are told why, and the live listing stays as it was.
- The ID, type, name and icon are locked.
After approval
Approved listings can still be suspended later if they break the rules, for example after a report. You are notified, and told again if the listing is restored. Reports and moderation of reviews are covered in Votes and reviews.
Tips for a smooth review
- Make sure the descriptions say what the bot or server actually does.
- Check that your invite link works and has not expired.
- If changes are requested, read the reviewer's note first, fix exactly what it asks, then resubmit.
