How to submit a Discord bot

Listing a bot takes a few minutes. You need a Discord account, the bot's Application ID, and to be the person who owns the bot.

Before you start

  • Sign in with Discord using the Log in button.
  • Find your Application ID. In the Discord Developer Portal, open your application and copy the Application ID from General Information. It is a number of 17 to 20 digits.

The four steps

1. Find

Paste the Application ID. Disguild looks up what Discord makes public and fills in the name, icon, descriptions and an invite link where it can. It never overwrites a description you have already typed, and it warns you if the bot is already listed or is set to private.

2. Describe

  • Short description: 20 to 140 characters. This appears on cards and in search results, so say what the bot does in one sentence.
  • Full description: 50 to 4,000 characters. Explain the main features and who the bot is for.
  • Category and language (44 languages to choose from). Live counters show the limits as you type.

3. Links

  • Invite link: if you leave it blank, Disguild builds a standard invite link from the Application ID.
  • Website and support server links are optional.
  • Commands are optional. Paste up to 100, one per line as /name - description, or the JSON that Discord returns. Disguild never asks for your bot token, which is why commands are pasted rather than read automatically.

4. Review

Check the preview card, confirm that you own the bot, and submit.

Your answers are saved in this browser as you type. If you refresh or close the tab, they come back when you return, and a Start over button clears them.

After you submit

Your listing starts as pending and is visible to you in your dashboard. A reviewer approves it, asks for changes, or rejects it, and you get a notification. The statuses and what you can change at each one are explained in Listing review and statuses.

The bot's ID, type, name and icon cannot be changed after submitting. Everything else can be edited.
